When art meets design anything can happen. In
this issue we brought artist and jewelry designer Carmem Gusmao and
swimwear designer Carolina Brasil together at Fendi Casa’s Miami Design
District showroom, and ooolala. The result: the ultimate sexy couture
that mixes touches of Egyptian culture with bold and colorful, yet
feminine precious stones. Gusmao’s hand-crafted pieces are unique and
created utilizing the antique goldsmith’s craft, Brazilian gemstones and
vintage pieces gathered from around the world. Brasil’s swimwear is
reminiscent of touches of Cavalli, but with a personal spice. Her latest
collection, Cleopatra, patterns Egyptian snakes and
includes fabrics reminiscent of the metals used in ancient Egypt,
including bronze, gold, copper and silver.
