Blending Light and Dark
The New Adriana Hoyos Collection Debuts
Story by Debra Kronowitz | Photos by Dan Forer
The Adriana Hoyos Collection has been
admired for its modern appeal and traditional craftsmanship. Themed
around retromodernism, the collections blend the use of natural
materials, coconut inlay and fine woods to enhance the ambiance of the
contemporary 21st century home. Simplicity of detail, clean rational
lines and handmade finishes make Latin American designer Adriana Hoyos’
designs unique.
Hoyos offers a combination of comfort, warmth, style and elegance in all
her collections. Native and exotic materials from Ecuador are used
throughout and reflect old world hand-craftsmanship combined with
sculptural simplicity. |

The 2008 collection,
Caramelo, is a celebration of contrast between light
and dark, bringing together shapes and forms that feel
familiar. Rather than simply defining geometric lines,
Caramelo pays tribute to nature, as table bases resemble
a deep forest and beautiful six-leg chairs feel almost
alive. The collection is elegant and features dining tables,
cocktail tables, upholstered chairs, a buffet, cabinet,
modular sofa and ottoman.
All the collections are designed to work seamlessly with
each other to create timeless, sophisticated and livable
spaces. Exquisite movement and emphasis on light is the
signature of the Caramelo
collection, always preserving
the quality and distinctiveness of Adriana Hoyos.
