Cool, Classic, Contemporary
Introducing the Michael Weiss Collection
Story by Sharon Patterson
As
one of the original showrooms in the Miami Design District,
now A Style Store has remained at the forefront of design by
representing chic modern furnishings from some of the finest
manufacturers in the world. In fact, visiting now means never having the
same experience, as the showroom continually evolves, presenting new
unique items, bold colors and hues, imaginative patterns and a broad
range of contemporary styles. The now showroom features furnishings,
accents, lighting, rugs and case goods to design acomplete modern
interior.
now has once again tempted the design community with whispers of
diversifying its portfolio and adding a fabulous new line, the Michael
Weiss
Collection. Modernism
is the first signature collection for Weiss, who
trained in fine and
performing arts at New York’s Juilliard School and later studied in
France before collaborating with his mother, renowned furniture designer
Lillian August. The collection reflects his pared-down vision of
modernism that is warm and romantic, yet bold, sleek and functional. |

“I design for the devotee of modern classics — a
new generation of furniture buyers who are more collector than
customer,” Weiss was quoted in an
article published in Robb Report.
“These collectors appreciate fine architecture, art and objects
that express individuality, quality and enduring design. They want their
homes to be a reflection of their refined aesthetic taste.
”Clean sleek lines. Bold couture fabrics. Nickel hardware and accents.
Leather-wrapped cabinet doors and inset granite tabletops. These are the
signatures of
Modernism.
Weiss brings architectural purity and understated
energy to the collection,
creating a fresh, modern look with enduring style. From designer accents
and furnishings for the bedroom to living rooms, dining and
entertainment, various highlights of the line will be displayed at the
showroom together with catalogs of this truly extensive collection. The
entire Modernism
series is available to order. Presently, the
showroom is featuring a sofa, bed, nightstands, end tables and a
sideboard. As time goes on, more from the collection will be offered.
Each piece can stand alone or work together, like pieces acquired over
time.
“I have a great amount of respect for Michael and his eye for design,”
said Wayne Taylor, owner of now. “The entire collection embodies many
decades of modern furniture design creating a warm, contemporary line
that has an evolved, collected style. Nothing is a set.”
