For Bruce
Carol
Brown Goldberg combines abstract expressionist paint drippings with
a color gradated dot grid that borders on pop-art. Her work often
features rigid and static compositions that find movement and
playfulness in color gradations where lines and particles imply
space, time and motion. For Bruce
is acrylic on canvas.

Linocut
Steve Martin’s use of linocuts – a printmaking technique, a variant
of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum mounted on a wooden block is
used for the relief surface – allows for more fluid and impulsive drawings. Martin applies the method in its simplest form,
creating a series of engravings of pure white lines on a black
background. The striking images command the attention of the observer
with bold graphic sophistication.
